Spicy Pepper Chicken

Delicious, simple, and easy to make, the Spicy Pepper Chicken is a classic meal. This is not a Chinese version of the black pepper chicken.

Rather, it is a mild gravy chicken dish made in Pakistani style. Serve it with roti or naan along with zeera raita.

Spicy Pepper Chicken Recipe


  • Chicken ½ kg
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves 6
  • Onion 250 gm
  • Tomato 250 gm
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Cloves 2
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Black pepper 2 tsp (crushed)
  • Lemon juice 4 tbsp
  • Green coriander few
  • Green chilies 4
  • Oil ½ cup


  1. Heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin powder, and curry leaves.
  2. Now add onion and fry.
  3. Then add tomato, salt, red chili powder, coriander powder, and cloves; cover the pot.
  4. After this add chicken and water, and cook for half hours.
  5. When chicken tender then add lemon juice, green coriander, green chilies, and crushed black pepper and serve hot
