Homemade Vegetable Shawarma

Vegetable Shawarma

Ingredients

  • Potatoes 3 medium
  • Capsicum 1 (sliced)
  • Carrot 1 (sliced)
  • Big red chili 1
  • Garlic clove 3 – 4
  • White cumin 1 tsp
  • Cooking oil 3 – 4 tbsp
  • Green chili 2 – 3
  • Curry leaves as required
  • Salt to taste
  • Tamarind pulp 4 tbsp
  • Pita bread 2 – 3

Instructions

  1. Boil, peel and cut the potatoes in cubes
  2. Wash and boil red chilies in half a cup of water and blend with garlic and cumin
  3. Heat cooking oil in a pan, pop green chili, and curry leaves in it. Add blended spices and stir well afterward.
  4. When the aroma comes, add the potatoes, capsicum, and carrot and mix well. Then, add salt and tamarind pulp.
  5. Cover and let it simmer on low heat for 3 – 4 minutes or until veggies are soft.
  6. Cut pita bread in halves and fill with vegetable mixture. Serve warm.
